April is locals month at Farley’s - come celebrate & appreciate the talents of your neighbors. April Events April 1st Friday: April Fools Day – watch out for tom foolery and shenanigans. April 2nd Saturday: Art opening & reception for local neighborhood artist, Marni Sheppard. The show, "Look Up - and smell the coffee!" displays her expressionistic paintings. Come meet the artist and window artist of the month as she features nature paintings – acrylic on canvas or oil pastels & acrylic on paper. Reception: 4-6PM. “I want to share my voice as an artist so I have now chosen to dedicate my energy back to my painting. My goal is to evoke emotion with my paintings and to celebrate the beauty within nature.” April 3rd Sunday: Daylight savings begins. Those wonderful long days are upon us. Remember to set your clock ahead. April 9th Saturday: Potrero Hill Friends of Old Time Music are back once again with an afternoon concert from 2-4PM. The Potrero Hill Friends of Old Time Music get together, from time to time, to play tunes from rural and often isolated parts of the Appalachian Mountains. See you all then and there! April 16th Saturday: Live music with the vocal styling of Essence. A local singer & songwriter performs from 3-5PM. Don’t miss this local sensation! www.essencemusic.com April 23rd Saturday: Live jazz with the Stephen Alexander Quartet. Stephen leads a great jazz group with free flowing sax work: bebop & swing. 7-9PM April 29th Friday: Join Farley’s and Christopher’s Books in celebrating the recent publication of Larry Gonick’s new young adult novel, “Kokopelli & Company in the Attack of the Smart Pies”. Long time Potrero Hill resident, Gonick is nationally know for his “Cartoon History of the Universe” series and editorial cartoons frequently found in the Potrero View. Reading: 7-9PM.
