Mark your calendar for these special and regular Farley's events:
Saturday, August 5th – “Darktet” kicks-off the August Saturday afternoon concert series with live jazz at 3pm.
August 15th Tuesday: Seattle bassist, Steve Kim has been performing since 1969. He studied with Gary Peacock and has performed in concerts, recordings and commissioned pieces. Join us for this special concert with Steve, while he is in town from Seattle, 7pm.
August 19th Saturday: “Presidents Breakfast” performs electro-jazz-funk-dub tunes on a Saturday afternoon, 3pm.
August 24th Thursday: “The Specs”…It is a simple equation: take 2 music fans + 1 guitar + 1 cocktail drum + a smattering of what you’ll deem catchy tunes…it all adds up to Potrero Hill’s own favorite two-some, “The Specs.” If you like songs short, catchy, light on volume and heavy on heart – and a setup similar to Jonathon Richman and Tommy Larkins in the film “There’s Something About Mary,” come on down and enjoy the set. Added bonus: see Katie Specs do a second set covering a surprise, yet to be announced cheesy 80’s act all on her lonesome. 7pm.
For both painting and drawing, Nancy Spoelhof employs a process that involves working on several pieces simultaneously over the course of many months. For more information, visit Nancy at www.nancycentral.com.
The animals in the windows are pieces of regional art created by artists from all over the world to please and delight. They are often whimsical and capture the spirit of the animal and not necessarily the actual appearance of the animal. There is a bright blue jaguar from Mexico, a Bengal tiger with exotic eyelashes and whimsical tail feathers on the turkey from Japan. Display by Roxann Rao Rutherford and Calvert Rutherford.
Farley's is looking for collectors that would like to display their treasures in the window boxes. If interested, send an email to email@example.com
