Happy New Year from the staff of Farley’s. May 2007 be filled with health, happiness, peace and prosperity for you and your loved ones. We look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Start the new year with care & concern for our planet. An anonymous donor has provided Farley’s with the DVDs, “An Inconvenient Truth” ( Al Gore ’s film about global warming) and “Who Killed the Electric Car”. Pick up a copy free of charge – watch it – pass it along to others – return it to Farley’s – keep it – but let’s act to slow/stop global warming.

January 1st - Monday: New Years Day, open 8am to 10pm . Start your new year with your neighbors from the community.

January 26th - Friday: “Bone-a-Fide Blues” - the genuine bluesman, Big Bones, is back at Farley’s with his harmonica. After many years he once again tells it like it is: “I’ve got more blues than you can use,” 8pm .
“Underwatercolor” – watercolors by Rosie Powell
“I’ve been painting as long as I can remember, using bold primary colors. I have always found great tranquility in nature; I feel especially at home in the ocean, with the seaweed and the fish. I started painting sea creatures after my first visit to Hawaii ; something sacred and profound awoke in me, my deep bond with nature finding its appropriate expression.” www.RosiePowell.com
Felicity More is back once again. Felicity was a recent winner in the “Venuszine” Holiday Craft-Off (pick-up a copy at Farley’s). This month, Felicity displays a collection of her plastic fish decorations. Popular in the 1940’s & ‘50s, these fish were most often found in bathrooms: not in the tub or toilet, but on the walls.
Plan YOUR neighborhood and keep up on planning issues:
The Potrero Boosters and the Merchants Association and other neighborhood organizations are hosting a series of community based planning meetings to develop a policy for future growth on the hill. The planning department is attending these meetings. We expect that what comes out of these meetings will establish a policy for future growth on Potrero Hill. A website has been set up to keep the community informed on what is happening: http://planpotrerohillsf.org/
The next community meeting is January 16th at 6.30 p.m. at the Neighborhood House. Please try to attend and make your voice heard.
Thanks to all those who donated toys for the Fire Fighters Toy Program. With your help, we donated several barrels of toys for needy families in San Francisco .
