Farley’s Goes Organic!

Fair Trade Organic Logos

We will now be serving Mr. Espresso's Organic Neapolitan Espresso beans that are fair trade and organic certified. The Coffee Review says, "the smoky tones are sweet and floral in the nose, but rather sharply pungent in the demitasse, where the flowers transform to pruny dry fruit with a hint of burned tones. Excellent in milk, which softens and sweetens the sharpness." We hope you enjoy these new beans!

Artist of the Month

Farley's Community Photography Show: "Kids (and Young People) Shoot the Hill"

This year for our Farley's community photography show we sought a different perspective and asked all of those budding or accomplished young photographers out there to bring us images of what they see in our neighborhood. The show features photographic images of Potrero Hill and environs. The show offers young people the opportunity to show what they love or hate about the Hill. Young photographers show the things that older photographers are too busy, too tall, too tired or just too un-cool to notice. All images are created by young persons up to age 16 and taken in or around Potrero Hill.

Window Display of the Month - Antique Signs

Antique Stamp Machines

Remember when signs were handcrafted and had lots of character (before plastics and plasma)? You don't? Well come check out our window display this month and see for yourself. A local collector will showcase his collection of porcelain and tin signs, some of which have survived rifle target practice. Porcelain signs were common from the late 1800s through WWII, when many of them were melted down for scrap metal. Tin signs were their cheaper cousins, but still visually compelling.
