May 2004 Newsletter

Happy May Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Memorial Day. As usual, Farley’s will be open Memorial Day (Monday, May 31) from 8AM-10PM. As we move into May and the weather warms (before the Summer fog rolls in), don’t forget to cool off with iced-drinks.

May Events

May 7, Friday: Reception and show for Jane Huber - Artist of the Month. Author of 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles, Jane’s photos of hikes throughout the Bay Area are on display. Reception and book signing, 7:00-9PM.

May 9, Sunday: Mothers Day, Farley’s annual tradition of honoring all moms continues. Bring mom in for a free coffee drink of her choice (she earned it raising you).

May 13, Thursday: Come and see the bubble show for kids of all ages; performed by Sterling Johnson, the Bubblesmith. Show includes an opportunity for some to get their hands soapy and make bubbles! “Totally adult and totally child-like” www.bubblesmith.com

May 21, Friday: Local country-rocker band, Fly by Knights, 7-9PM.

May 26, Wednesday: Mark Growden, singer, multi-instrumentalist composer performs at 7PM. www.markgrowden.com

"Growden’s Music is a calliope of tangos, marches, pedal steel blues, and eloquent acoustic ballads. In his hands, parade scores unravel to become inebriated waltzes. Ballads are stretched thin and poked with forks. Melodies dance like wicked children..." --John Paczkowski - S.F. Bay Guardian

"Composer Mark Growden has seen the yodeling, cookie-tin-banging, accordion-playing future of musical performance, and it is good." - Heather Wisner --S.F. Weekly
