Mr.Kalousek’s work has been regularly appearing in magazines and books in the United States and abroad, as well as in animation, film, and stage design. He is a regular contributor to the Dirty Goat Quarterly. Mr. Kalousek piques viewers’ curiosity by focusing on scenes of the absurd and fortuitous that he poignantly sloughs off from the everyday life scenes". Strong narrative aspect in Mr.Kalousek's work appears as pentimento to the volatile and charged figurative imagery making it ideally suited for many collaborations with literary and stage authors.
Farley’s East is Coming!
Yes, the rumors are true. We are opening a shop in Oakland in the Uptown district. With many of our regular customers moving to Oakland over the last twenty years, it only seems right that we offer them a shorter commute. For all you Oaklandish folks out there, send us your thoughts and suggestions for Farley’s East. Hope to see you all there this Summer. Keep track of our progress at: http://farleyseast.blogspot.com/
Manager’s Corner by Jillian
Hello it’s May! or is it June? It might as well be because time is really flyin’ here at Farley’s. Many of you have noticed some of the changes going on at the shop lately. One day you could come in with your eyes closed and order your coffee and the next day, you are looking at that Apple Danish through glass. It’s looking back at you. It says, “Get me outta here.” You are hungry, so you say ok, Apple Danish, I know a place we can go....”
We felt the need for a pastry case because we wanted something nice to consolidate the pastries in. It makes our job easier and hopefully makes your decisions a little easier to make at the counter. The pastry case was hand-crafted by our very own Joe Towery who is the manager extraordinaire in-training right now. Joe has a ton of tools and a knack for building things. We are very thankful for what a great job he did building the case and all the hard work and planning that went into it.
In other changes, customers sometimes tell us that our coffee could be a little stronger. In response we have decided to put a little more coffee in the coffee. That is, we have begun adding a little more ground coffee to each batch of coffee. The result is indeed a stronger, more full-bodied cup that I think you all will appreciate. We welcome your feedback, so tell us what you think.
... Stay tuned for more changes as Apple Danish takes a trip to the other end of the counter next month .....
See you in the shop!
