June Events

 

June 4th Saturday: Artist Reception, this month’s artist is Farley’s regular, Adrian. Join him for a reception to view his lyrical paintings of nudes, motorcycle tanks, leather jackets, and comic books, 7-9PM.

 

June 5th Sunday: World Environment Day, celebrate world environment day in your own neighborhood. Farley’s is hosting a “conversation café” to chat about your favorite environmental issue, whether it is unsightly overhead utility wires or global warming. Come on in and chat with your neighbors and bring a friend. Facilitated by Steven Moss of the SF Community Power Coop, 5PM.

 

June 9th Thursday: Live music, the Frisky Frolics. A four piece ukulele driven troupe plays tunes from the 1920’s through the 1930’s. Leader Rick Quisol takes us on a tour back thru time. A sheer delight to see & listen to, 7-9PM.

 

June 19th Sunday: Fathers Day, Mom got hers last month – it’s dad’s turn; bring him in for the free coffee drink of his choice.

 

June 20th Monday: Voice Studio Showcase, 12 singers worked enthusiastically for seven weeks on their vocal and performance skills at The Voice Studio. The big highlight is their final performance at this showcase. Join us for the journey through different styles of music and enjoy listening to great singers, 8PM.

 

June 25th Saturday: Live music, "Salt Peter" will be performing from 2-4pm in place of the previously scheduled, "Essence." Stop by to hear Salt Peter play rough and tumble cowboy, campfire and sea shanties.

 

 

Artist of the Month

This month’s artist is Farley’s regular, Adrian whose main claim to fame is hanging out at Farley’s and on the side, recently painted a heart for the “Hearts in San Francisco” project. Join him for a reception to view his lyrical paintings of nudes, motorcycle tanks, leather jackets, and comic books. Reception: Saturday, June 4th, 7-9PM.

 

Window Display of the Month
Adrian: “Relics of Old SF”
Pen-and-ink sketches depicting sites of historical interest, contrasting the old and new. Each work has been carefully researched using source materials form the historical society and the Archives of the SF Public Library. Check it out!

Gail’s Coffee Corner

June’s bean special comes from Ethiopia. Coffee beans from Ethiopia have pronounced wine-like sap.
