October is one of the most festive and exciting months at Farley’s! Not only do we have the annual Pet Fest, but also other events around Halloween (Celtic New Year) and arts and music.
Also remember that starting last month, we now open at 6AM Monday through Friday, 7:30AM Saturday, and the usual 8AM on Sunday. PS. soy and chai are now available.
October Events
October 7, Thursday: Artist reception, “The Portrait of a Lady” by Linda Elvira Piedra, 7:00PM.
October 22, Friday: Cory Combs & Friends Monthly Concert – a unique chance to hear well-known Bay Area musicians in an intimate acoustic setting. This month, Cory is recording a CD and tonight’s performance includes jazz musicians from New York in town to help with the CD. 8:00-10:00PM.
October 23, Saturday: SF Power Coop Treasure Trek. Join the Power Coop, learn how to conserve energy, and receive free energy efficient devices. Noon-4:00PM. For more information, visit: www.sfpower.org
October 30, Saturday: Farley’s Grand Gala Pet Fest! Festivities begin with the parade starting at 1:00PM at 18th and Arkansas. The parade will commence up 18th Street three blocks to 18th and Texas Street for pet costume judging. Dress your pets in the Halloween best. Music this year by Salt Peter featuring unique rough and tumble cowboy, campfire, and sea shanties. October 31, Sunday: Annual Potrero Hill Parents Association Kids Trick or Treat Night. Stop by to see hundreds of kids in costume visiting the merchants of 18th Street for good old-fashioned trick or treating. 5:00PM.
Artist of the MonthLinda Elvira Piedra: The Portrait of a Lady Elvira traveled the world with her 8x10 antique view camera capturing photos of women along the way. This is a presentation of her photographs of the women she has encountered. The Lady is an expression of the spiritual nature of the feminine. www.lindaelvirapiedra.com

Staff and Farley’s NewsGood News from Sharone: After completing her degree, Sharone is now starting at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Potrero Hill. Congratulations to Chris Hillyard: Farley’s newsletter and supplies manager, Chris and his lovely wife Amy recently wed at Stinson Beach.
New Staff: Come by to say hello to the new staff members who bring a wide variety of experience to Farley’s. Come by and say hello to Rich from Minnesota, Campbell from Seattle, Susan from the Peninsula, and Shera a San Francisco native. They have all worked in a variety of coffeehouses and bring that experience with them to Farley’s.
